The problem below is the first apprentice problem we did.
CAN YOU WORK OUT WHO IS WHO?
The picture below shows six friends in a row.
Using the pictures and the following clues , can you figure out each person’s name?
1. Sam is between two girls
2. Gayle is the only person wearing a hat.
3. There are two people between Gayle and Maria
4.Sam is standing next to Maria
5. Gina is standing on one of the ends
6. There is one person between Michael and Lucy

i worked this picture out by firstly reading the questions and found Gayle cause she was only wearing a hat and then found out where Sam was standing which was second boy on the left hand side and then i got the rest right i think.the first person on the left is Gina,second on the left is Sam,third on the left is Lucy,fourth person is Gayle,fith person is Micheal and last which is on the right hand side is Maria.

3.If Sam is second and there are two people between Gayle and Maria then Maria is number one
5.Since Maria is number one then Gina is six

I worked it out by looking at a question,then when I knew who it was I wrote it on a book,but when I had trouble,I would go to the next question and hopfully find the answer there. Answer:Maria,Sam,lucy,Gayle,Michel and Gina.

I think that:
- Sam is the second one because you know how the questions said Gayle and Maria are in between two people, well i looked at the picture and the child before Gayle was Lucy so the person before Lucy must been Sam.
-Gayle is the fourth one because i looked at the others and they’ve haven’t got a hat so i saw Gayle left with a hat on her head.
-the two people that are in between Gayle and Maria are Lucy and Sam becaus if you look at Gayle and look right and there is one person in between Gayle and Gina but at the left there were two people in between Gayle and Maria who are Lucy and Sam.
- Before Sam is Maria because if you look at the person on the right next to Sam is Lucy so the person before him must be Maria.
- Gina is at the end because first before her is:Maria,Sam,Lucy,Gayle and Micheal so the last one should be Gina.
-Between Lucy and Micheal is gayle because i looked at Micheal and Lucy and in between them is Gayle.
